Westfalia Technologies Inc. Helps Save Lives Through Blood Donations
York, Pa. May 18, 2015 --Westfalia Technologies, Inc. will host a community blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The drive will be held at Westfalia Technologies, Inc., 3655 Sandhurst Drive, York, PA 17406.
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood with more than 41,000 blood donations needed every day. Patients with cancer, victims of accidents, and those undergoing surgery are just some of the recipients who benefit from blood donations. By donating just one pint of blood, you have the potential to save up to three lives.
Our goal is to see 30 donors. Anyone who is at least 17 years old, weighs a minimum of 110 lbs. and is in generally good health can donate blood. The entire process takes about an hour and all blood types are needed. Donors should bring a photo ID.
The American Red Cross blood program supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply and supplies blood for patients in approximately 2,700 hospitals across the U.S with 80 percent of blood donations collected at mobile blood drives. The American Red Cross is committed to saving patients’ lives by providing blood products, medical expertise and scientific discovery.
