Westfalia's Ryan Smith | 2022 Pro to Know

YORK, Pa.— April 7, 2022 — Westfalia Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of logistics solutions for manufacturers and distributors, announces that Ryan Smith, Vice President of Automation, has received Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2022 Pros to Know award. The annual award recognizes outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage the supply chain for competitive advantage.

This prestigious award includes individuals from sourcing, consulting, transportation, and all that are involved in the supply chain community. It is very clear that the U.S. supply chain has been drastically affected and altered in recent times for all those involved. Yet, in the face of these challenges, Smith stands out as a leader of the industry for his dedication and innovation.

Smith commented, “I am honored to accept this award. In today’s complex supply chain, it is crucial that customers receive the best warehouse design and service made possible through the warehouse automation experts here at Westfalia. I am proud of my team’s impact in improving the efficiency and boosting payback of warehouses and distribution centers around the world.”

During his time at Westfalia, Smith has spearheaded initiatives to design automated warehousing systems that:

  • Introduce an entry-level, hybrid system for industries or companies that need automation, but at that stage, can’t yet afford to fully automate.
  • Transported orders to and from the loading dock faster, leading to a more efficient supply chain and subsequently solving critical problems facing today’s warehouses.
  • Support Westfalia’s mission to bring more autonomy to the U.S. automation market, allowing warehouses to address and solve major issues with American-made technology.

“When I look back at past Pros to Know winners, I see a lot of individuals who accomplished a lot of great achievements. But, this year’s winners are reinventing what it means to be a supply chain professional. This year’s winners are intuitive, adaptive and so super smart, and continue to push the envelope when it comes to everything supply chain-related,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “We received over 360 nominations this year, the highest number of nominations ever for this award. It’s proof that today’s supply chain professionals are not only doing great things for the supply chain, but are also being supported by their teams, peers and partners.”
