Westfalia's de-stacker system for plastic dairy cases is unique in the industry with its "bottom-out" discharge design. Stacks fed into the de-stacker single file via pan style twin strand chain conveyor in groups of four. Stack height can be up to 10 cases high. Inside the de-stacker, stacks are raised approximately 2 inches by 2 horizontal wedge lifters, stacks are then clamped at the second from bottom case tier. Lifters retract, and the bottom tier of cases is discharged. From the de-stacker zone, cases are fed into dial wheel drive unit used to power the cases through an up-chute onto an overhead conveyor that transfers cases to the case washer system.
