Westfalia Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of logistics solutions for manufacturers and distributors since 1992, has been named a finalist in the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2016 Business of the Year Awards. The awards honor companies and individual leaders for their contributions to the Central Pennsylvania business community. Listed in the “101+ Employees” category, Westfalia was selected for its dedication to success, business and the local area.

Dan Labell, president, Westfalia Technologies, said, “Our business is about solving problems for customers and building successful, long-term relationships. As designers and planners, not simply technology providers, the most important driving force for Westfalia and its employees is working alongside customers as an active partner. Building that partnership and earning the customer’s trust means honoring the commitments we make – to our customers, employees and community.”

A vital player in the automated materials handling industry, Westfalia leads by example through innovation and continuous improvement to its warehouse automation technology, such as its automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) and Savanna.NET® warehouse execution system (WES). Some of today’s most prominent manufacturers and distributors rely on Westfalia’s solutions to improve efficiencies, maximize space, raise throughput and streamline operations. And, the quality, reliability and flexibility of its products give customers the ability to adapt to changing market conditions now and in the future.

Another way Westfalia leads by example is through its Westfalia C.A.R.E.S. program, an employee-run program derived from Westfalia’s Commitment to Assisting to Raise awareness and Empowering employee Service in the community. Westfalia C.A.R.E.S. uses fun programs to encourage employees to participate in raising much-needed funds for charitable organizations. Some of the organizations that have benefited from this program include: Children's Miracle Network, Keystone Warriors, Operation Gratitude, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, The American Liver Foundation, The American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Shiloh Lions Club, York County Food Bank, and York County Youth Football Association.

Award winners will be announced at the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2016 Business of the Year event on Nov. 7, 2016 at the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. For more information about the event, visit http://www.cpbj.com/section/business-of-the-year.
