Satellite® Systems
AS/RS Satellite® Transport Technology

Westfalia Satellite® technology is a fully automated patented rack entry vehicle used in our automated storage and retreival systems (ASRS) to store and retrieve pallets and rolls. The Satellite is fast and flexible, as it safely moves pallets of all shapes and sizes utilizing the counter rotation principle. The inserting and removing of unit loads in a multiple deep configuration can significantly increase the capacity of existing storage space. Order Picking can be easily integrated with Satellite technology.

    • Safe, dependable and fast, with gentle starts & stops
    • Triple support of all pallets
    • Satellite load distributed evenly over 20 wheels, resulting in no cantilevered load moments
    • Standard Capacity up to 4,400 lbs (greater capacities available).
    • Horizontal speed vmax 295 ft./min
    • Performance 30-120 pallets/hour per storage/retrieval machine (SRM) (depending on whether 2 or 1 load is handled at a time)
    • Reliable and gentle storage of pallet, rolls or trays
    • Able to design for different aisle heights & widths
      • Single-level using transfer cars
      • Multi-level using SRM’s

Specifically for pallet Satellite® Systems:

  • Optional triple or quadruple pallet support depending on pallet weight
  • Stores pallets with either long or short side leading
  • Handles various pallet types, such as standard GMA, 9-block or custom pallets
  • Can be lengthened or shortened to accommodate non-standard unit loads, including rolls in varying widths
