Layer-Load AS/RS
Automated Layer Picking Solutions
Westfalia's Automated Layer Picking System prepares layers ahead of time, stores them and releases them in the appropriate sequence.
- Move, store and retrieve products in layers without a pallet to meet just-in-time order requirements
-
Load layers onto a pallet in proper sequence so “rainbow pallets” can be created
-
Utilizes patented Satellite® transport shuttle design
-
Utilizes a Storage/Retrieval Machine (S/RM) which is captive to a main aisle
- Transfer approx. 90 layers per hour per Storage and Retrieval Machine (S/RM)
Step 1 - The S/RM with Satellite® positions itself in front of the storage lane.
Step 2 - The Satellite drives under the layer and retrieves it by raising it off the support rails. The Satellite then drives back to the S/RM with the layer in hand.
Step 3 - The Satellite deposits the layer onto a conveyor where it will be introduced to the palletizing/de-palletizing robot.
Step 4 - The robot palletizes the layer to form a "rainbow" style pallet and prepares the pallet for shipping.
What other type of load do you need to store and retrieve?
- Unit Load - pallet or palletless, paper rolls, bakery trays, etc.
- Mini-Load - container based small items
- Large Self Storage Containers
- Car Parking Systems
