Westfalia Technologies’ Dave Williams Earns Food Logistics Champions Award

Director of software and solutions delivery recognized for developing and implementing software solutions that enable food manufacturers and distributors to automate warehouse operations

York, Pa. – March 28, 2016 – Westfalia Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of logistics solutions for manufacturers and distributors since 1992, congratulates Dave Williams, director of software and solutions delivery, for earning a Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain award. Williams has been recognized for his leadership and guidance in the design and implementation of software solutions and applications that enable food manufacturers and distributors to automate warehouse operations.

In its second year, the Food Logistics Champions award recognizes influential individuals and organizations in the food/beverage industry whose achievements, hard work and vision have shaped and continue to attain milestones in safety, efficiency, productivity and innovation throughout the global food supply chain.

“In addition to using automation to streamline warehouse operations and improve productivity, food and beverage companies rely on this technology to ensure product safety,” said Dave Williams, director of software and solutions delivery, Westfalia Technologies. “Specifically, software solutions like warehouse execution systems (WES) allow users to track and trace inventory or raw ingredients. This creates audit trails that help companies access accurate information, comply with today’s industry regulations, and keep products fresh and safe.”

Drawing from more than 15 years of experience, Williams leads Westfalia’s software and solutions delivery operations, including the implementation of Westfalia’s WES, Savanna.NET®. Combining the functionality of a warehouse management system (WMS) and warehouse control system (WCS) into a single application, Savanna.NET® helps direct, control and optimize internal material flow and order picking.

Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics, said, “Our industry benefits from the vision and dedication of early pioneers and contemporary entrepreneurs alike who understand the uniquely integrated relationship between people and the global food supply chain. From farmers to transportation providers and others who play a part in the global food supply chain, this award is Food Logistics’ way of celebrating the talented trailblazers and inspirational mentors whose work deserves acknowledgement and appreciation.”

Individuals and organizations that earn a place within the “Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain” award will be profiled in the March 2016 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at www.foodlogistics.com.
