Materials Planner

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Materials Planner. The Materials Planner will work as part of the Supply Chain with Engineering and Production in order to determine resources needed to meet production schedules. This position will also work with Purchasing to maintain adequate levels of raw material in inventory.This is an opportunity to join a positive team environment in a growing company.
Essential Job Duties:

Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Review blueprints and product specifications to accurately determine amount of materials needed
- Initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs
- Work closely with Purchasing to ensure adequate resources are ordered
Required Qualifications:
-
3 – 5 years of experience in this field
- 2– 5 years’ experience as a Materials Planner
- Experience using an MRP system (preferably NAV)
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Strong in the areas of coordination, time management, and organization
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the manufacturing environment
- Possesses the following leadership qualities:

Excellent communication skills
- Ability to utilize basic math skills
Desired Qualifications:
- 2 year technical degree
- Ability to read blueprints
Machines/Tools/Equipment:
All computer and networking-related equipment, telephone systems, printers, copiers and calculators are provided to employees for use in performing their necessary tasks.
