AutoCAD Designer
Careers
Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking an AutoCAD Designer. This position will assist various departments with project proposals including layout drawings, with a strong emphasis in AutoCAD.
Job Duties:
-
Interface with Controls, Project Management, Sales, and Purchasing departments to complete equipment design and assist production

Help to develop standard equipment for higher volume production and quick turnaround customization

Maintain 3D data to produce manufacturing drawings with BOMs, track revisions, record design history and update standards

Collaborate with Sales, Mechanical, Electrical, and Shop departments to ensure properly designed material handling solutions

Coordinate with departments and contractors to ensure that building systems integrate properly

Prepare material handling system proposal drawings using AutoCAD under the direction of the Sales Department
-
Prepare or modify production drawings using AutoCAD, including BOMs under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Department

Assist Mechanical Engineering Department with various duties, including design releases, BOMs, parts preorders, filing drawings, producing job folders and spare parts lists

Work with AS/RS system drawings (locating components, developing BOMs, and in the case of satellite rails, detailing components)

Configure and release conveyors, which includes printing drawings, developing BOMs, and managing data

Assist Controls Department with drawings as needed
- Assist in the preparation of sales proposals
Qualifications - Required:
-
2 year Mechanical degree or Post-Secondary training in this field

Must have formal training AND at least 4 years of experience using AutoCAD
-
Must be proficient in MS Office applications

2 years of experience using SolidWorks as a secondary design tool, working with 100-part assemblies
-
Experience in 3D parametric modelers such as SolidEdge, Inventor, Pro/E, etc. (Will be considered in lieu of SolidWorks experience)

Experience with material handling and conveyors
Qualifications - Desired:

Experience using Pro-E as an additional design tool

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to multi-task

Ability to adjust priority as project schedules dictate
