Control Systems Engineer

Westfalia Technologies is seeking a full-time Controls Systems Engineer. Execute controls system commission tasks for AS/RS projects. Provide controls support to our customers during commissioning and troubleshooting after installations. This is an opportunity to join a positive team environment in a growing company.
Job Functions:
- Developing PLC code based on department standards
- Adapting standard PLC code to new applications
- Documenting PLC code
- Developing HMI configurations
- Debugging and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems at customer sites
- Control system testing
- Control system commissioning
- Coordinating control systems with mechanical designs
- Control system hardware design
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of industrial controls experience
- BSEE or significant experience
- Familiar with Allen-Bradley PLCs and VFD hardware
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with Rockwell programming software and hardware, such as:
- Logix500
- Logix5000
- Panelview and Factory Talk View (HMI)
- Have an understanding of DeviceNet & Industrial Ethernet
- Have an understanding of the function and operation of mechanical hardware used for material handling systems
- Ability to design industrial control systems using Allen-Bradley and other major manufacturer's components
- Understanding of and ability to select industrial sensors including photo-eyes and proximity switches
- Familiarity and understanding of the NEC
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of Westfalia Technologies operational processes
- Willingness to travel 40 - 50% to customer sites
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Fluency in Spanish or German is a plus
Machines/Tools/Equipment:
