Field Service Technician

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Field Service Technician. The position of Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service and installation work on all equipment built or supplied by Westfalia Technologies, Inc. This is an opportunity to join a positive team environment in a growing company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support part and service sales for S/RMs, conveyors, palletizers and robots
- Accept, process, and follow up to parts orders for S/RMs, conveyors, palletizers and robots
- Support the identification and implementation of alternate vendor sources for parts provided by Westfalia Germany
- Provide service and support to customers with regard to preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, both in-house (25%) and on-site (75%)
- Provide world-class customer service to all customers
- Interface with Sales and Engineering to meet customer requirements
- Coordinate business information between customers, Sales, Engineering and other associates
- Lead efforts in promoting and selling income-generating products
- Resolve first-line customer complaints and problems
- Provide 24/7 on-call rotational phone support
- Lead efforts to modernize, upgrade and convert customers’ existing equipment
- Submit all paperwork in a timely and professional manner
- Maintaining a close professional relationship with all internal/external customers
- Participate in developing and maintaining a sense of teamwork within the Service Department
- Perform work in the Production Shop when no Service Work is available
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma

2 years’ experience in Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting of automated machinery

Willingness to travel up to 75%

Capable of safe rigging, climbing, and working in structures up to 150 ft.

Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic automation systems

Ability to read drawings and schematics

Knowledge of PLCs, DeviceNet, motors and VFD drives, relays and sensors

Ability to use hand and power tools, multimeters and/or oscilloscopes

Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word)

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
-
An excellent attendance record is essential
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with welding stainless steel
- Working knowledge of the German language
- Millwright experience
Machines/Tools/Equipment:
All computer and networking-related equipment, telephone systems, printers, copiers and calculators are provided to employees for use in performing their necessary tasks. Candidate must have own tools.
Working Conditions:
The position requires both physical labor and office work. Work hours occasionally include weekend and night time for service calls and trips. Working environment includes freezer warehouses on customer sites.
